Today we celebrated St Andrews day, the patron Saint of Scotland. Unknown to many, Saint Andrew is also the patron Saint of Romania, Greece, Russia, Ukraine, and Poland.

The children have been learning many things about Scotland and, with help, identified Scotland on the map!

We looked at kilts and spoke in detail about the different tartan patterns and varied colours. They designed kilts making their own unique tartan patterns.

After listening to traditional bagpipe music, the children danced to their own versions of the Highland Fling (a solo Highland dance.)

Scottish flags were made using creative skills, lolly sticks, blue pencils, and white stickers.

To finish the day, the children enjoyed eating traditional Scottish shortbread.
